05 - 08 Oct 2012
Once again we are delighted to be able to offer you a comprehensive selection of tours to the 2012 Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp.
A promotional poster in 2003 described the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe as "Ce n'est pas une course, c'est un monument" - "Not so much a race as a monument".
The Arc is the most prestigious horse race in Europe, and one of the most renowned international events in any sport. This will be a spectacular weekend of the finest turf racing featuring 11 Group races over the two days. The current sponsor of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe is the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club and, as a result of this sponsorship, the prize fund of the race has doubled from €2 million to €4 million, making it the world's second richest horse race on turf, after The Japan Cup. The purse for the whole weekend of the "Arc" meeting is €6.7 million.
Horse Racing Abroad offers you total flexibility in your choice of hotel, number of nights and mode of transport - "mix and match" to suit your own requirements!
Our packages are fully inclusive, comprising transfers in Paris on arrival/departure (Friday to Monday) and from your hotel to Longchamp on race days, with "Pesage" racecourse admission provided for both days. Our representatives are on hand both in your hotel and at the racecourse to ensure the smooth running of your weekend from start to finish. With a selection of Eurostar train departures and flights from most of the UK's major airports together with Dublin, a wide range of hotels and our exclusive arrangements at Longchamp, we are confident that ours is a Winning Formula!
As there are 9 races scheduled on Arc day we strongly recommend, for your own comfort, that you stay overnight in Paris after Sunday's racing.
THE ARC LAST YEAR...
German-trained Danedream won last year's race in tremendous style. The three-year-old, ridden by Andrasch Starke and trained by Peter Schiergen, went clear in the final straight to win by five lengths in a record time. Shareta was second and Snow Fairy came third as fillies clinched the first three places.
