The Côte d’Azur has always been a favourite winter destination with the British, due mainly to the region’s temperate climate, stunning scenery and gourmet cuisine.
It is our pleasure to be able to offer you this superb weekend break in the South of France. This is an ideal opportunity to escape the 'grey' British winter and enjoy the sunnier climes of the Mediterranean. This year we have designed a three night stay in Monte Carlo, giving you ample time to enjoy this "jewel" of the French Riviera!
The flat season at Cagnes-sur-Mer commences in mid-January and culminates with their richest race, the Grand Prix du Conseil Général des Alpes Maritimes, the finale to six weeks’ of entertaining racing.
The racecourse of Cagnes-sur-Mer is situated just 4 miles west of Nice Airport and provides a picturesque setting overlooking the Mediterranean. The card on Saturday 22nd February comprises seven flat races including the Listed Prix Policeman and the Listed Grand Prix du Conseil Général des Alpes Maritimes. For those wishing to take lunch, we can reserve a number of places in the Panoramic Restaurant “Le Paddock” where you can savour the excellent cuisine.
The Principality of Monaco, playground of the rich and famous, has a beautiful old town with its palace, luxurious yachts in the harbour, ‘exotique’ gardens and the Jacques Cousteau sea-life centre, not to mention a wide variety of excellent restaurants. For those who wish to venture further afield car hire is readily available and there is also an excellent train service along the coast. The Promenade des Anglais in Nice or La Croisette in Cannes are easily accessible, as is the Liguria region of Italy, just across the border!
