03-06 July 2009
Tour Highlights
- Relaxing weekend on the island of Jersey
- An evening's racing at Jersey Race Club
We are pleased to be able to introduce a new tour to our 2009 calendar. Jersey, one of the most beautiful of the Channel Islands, provides a scenic and restful location for a weekend's break and has the added advantage of being in the Sterling zone so there can be no currency surprises! Jersey Race Club holds regular meetings over the summer Months in a delightful and picturesque setting.
The Jersey Race Club was formed in the nineteenth century and the first races took place in 1832. In 1961 the racecourse moved to its current location in St Ouens, with spectacular views over Sark and Guernsey. Each meeting features five races with the first race traditionally being a hurdle race. There are five trainers based in Jersey and, together with visiting horses, each race usually sees between 8-10 runners.
Our visit to the Island will coincide with an evening meeting at Jersey Race Club and we are delighted to offer you the exclusive facilities provided by the Jersey Race Club in their Members' Marquee, that will include a buffet dinner.
