Next PageLeave the bleak mid-winter far behind, and fly East for racing in Mumbai followed by a tour of the Golden Triangle and a further day’s racing in Delhi.

Our tour departs London Gatwick using the services of Emirates Airlines flying into Mumbai via Dubai.

Our itinerary then takes you to the famous "white" city of Rajasthan, Udaipur, which is also known as the ‘city of lakes’ (it stands on the banks of Lake Pichola). The marble palaces, beautifully laid out gardens and lakes make Udaipur seem almost like a mirage in the desert.

Overlooking Lake Pichola is the City Palace, a marvel of marble and granite. This is the largest palace in Rajasthan, its exquisite workmanship makes it a must on every visitor's itinerary.

Close to the City Palace is the Jagdish temple which houses some imposing sculpted figures and heavily ornamented interiors. You also have the Sahelion-ki-Bari (or the Garden of Maidens), built in the early 18th century, which has four pools and delicately carved kiosks and elephants in marble. Indeed, one palace is built on an island in the lake and is now the world famous "Lake Palace Hotel" where we are pleased to say you will be staying for three wonderful nights. The Palace is built in such a way that it seems to float effortlessly on the blue waters of the lake.

We then fly to Jaipur (The Pink City), founded by Maharaja Jai Singh II, the capital of Rajasthan. It is a major attraction for the first-time visitor and is surrounded on all sides by rugged hills, crowned with forts and enclosed by embattled walls. Houses with latticed windows line the streets with their rose pink colour, which is almost as magical as a sunset! Every home within the city is obliged by law to maintain its façade. The attractions are the Amer Palace, The City Palace, Hawa Mahal and Nahargarh Fort. You will enjoy two nights stay here in the Rambagh Palace Hotel.

Following our stay in Jaipur we will travel on to Agra, visiting Bharatpur & Fatehpur Sikri en route. Agra is home to the ‘must see’ of India - The Taj Mahal - India's greatest monument - one of the seven wonders of the world! Built by Shah Jahan as a memorial to his wife, 20,000 men laboured for over 17 years to build this wealth of white marble and precious stone. We are staying in Agra for one night at the Taj View Hotel.

For your onward journey to our final port of call, Delhi, we have arranged for you to take the Shatabdi Express which is a much preferable form of travel to the 6 hours it takes by road over this relatively short distance! Our three nights stay in Delhi will be in the luxurious Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi.

New Delhi, the capital city of India, is an unusual blend of Eastern & Western influences. The older part of the city, Old Delhi, is a medieval world of imperial Mughal forts, soaring mosques and bazaars. While New Delhi, with its broad avenues, stately homes and landscaped gardens, has more than a bit of British character to it. Together these two cities, fused into one, have played a pivotal role in India's history in the last millennium.
