• A day’s racing at Chantilly for the Prix du Jockey Club

We are delighted to be able to offer you the opportunity to visit Chantilly for this prestigious event.

The Prix du Jockey Club is one of the highlights of the French racing calendar. Chantilly, often called the most picturesque racecourse in the world, creates a stunning setting with its backdrop of the beautiful Chateau.

Chantilly is situated about 30 kilometres north of Paris in the heart of the French countryside and is the main training centre for racehorses in France.

On Sunday 1st June, Chantilly hosts the Prix du Jockey Club – “French Derby”. The 2007 race attracted a large international field including Zambezi Sun, Literato and Raincoat. The race was won by Lawman partnered by jockey Frankie Dettori, awarding him with his second Derby win in 24 hours following his success in the English equivalent the previous day. The Prix du Jockey Club is supported by 3 other Group races, the Group 2 Prix du Gros- Chene run over 5 furlongs and won in 2007 by Beauty is Truth trained by Robert Collet, winning comfortably from British challengers Peace Offering and Moss Vale. The Group 2 Prix de Sandringham where All is Vanity, trained by Stuart Cargeeg was victorious and the Group 2 Grand Prix de Chantilly.
