HORSE RACING ABROAD & LONGCHAMP

Horse Racing Abroad has worked closely with France Galop, the French Jockey Club, for many years and is proud to be the only, officially appointed, racing tour company to bring race-goers to this event.

PavilionGrandstand

With two days of superb Group racing, Longchamp will have its busiest weekend of the year with crowds pouring in from all over France, Europe and America. Besides creating a tremendous atmosphere of excitement and anticipation, this can also lead to overcrowding throughout the racecourse, the only exception being the exclusive Horse Racing Abroad Pavilion Grandstand area.

Your tour price includes entry to Longchamp Racecourse, with access to the public areas such as the main grandstands (without reserved seating), but it does not include entry to the Horse Racing Abroad Pavilion Grandstand, which is for the exclusive use of those clients who have purchased Pavilion Badges in advance.

Grandstand Corridor

A variety of catering facilities can be found within the Pavilion Grandstand and these are detailed on the "Food and Drink" page of this website.

Our aim at Horse Racing Abroad is to ensure that you enjoy your visit to the full. With a reserved seat in our exclusive grandstand you can watch the racing in comfort and avoid the crowds in the public areas. Due to the heavy demand we regret that the Pavilion Grandstand facility is only available to those who purchase travel arrangements through Horse Racing Abroad.

THE HORSE RACING ABROAD PAVILION GRANDSTAND

Our Exclusive Facilities at Longchamp

Since 1981 we have had the unique facility of our own private Grandstand at Longchamp. The Pavilion, which dates from 1927, is a listed building.

2001 saw the start of our major renovation programme to the Pavilion Grandstand that has resulted in improvements to the facilities on the ground floor and to the luncheon rooms on the first floor.

The Pavilion is for the exclusive use of our clientele and, as a result, there are minimal queues for betting, eating and drinking in comparison to the rest of Longchamp.  The Pavilion also prides itself on having spacious viewing areas from which to watch the races.

Grandstand seating

The Pavilion is now "the place to be" at Longchamp as far as the British turfists are concerned! Many famous faces of the British Racing fraternity are to be seen enjoying a casual lunch in the self-service restaurant or a celebratory drink at the bar!

GrandstandExt

To assist our clients in the Pavilion area, France Galop arrange race commentaries in English on both Saturday and Sunday.

Entrance to the Horse Racing Abroad Pavilion is not included in your tour price. A Horse Racing Abroad Pavilion Grandstand reserved seat must be purchased to allow access to the Pavilion area.

Horse Racing Abroad Pavilion Badges

£75.00 each, valid both days!

This badge will give you access to all areas of the Horse Racing Abroad Pavilion including a covered, reserved Grandstand seat, a racing paper and a racecourse programme on both Saturday and Sunday.

Arc day is a very special day in the racing calendar and gentlemen are respectfully requested to wear jacket and tie for admission into the Pavilion area.

Remember! These badges may only be bought by clients of Horse Racing Abroad. They must be purchased in advance, in conjunction with our travel arrangements.

NEW AT THE ARC THIS YEAR

At Horse Racing Aborad we are continually looking at new ways to improve the fantastic experience and facilities in our Pavilion Grandstand.  Look out for improvements in the restaurant and champagne facilities and changes to the front of the stand and terrace area.

VIEWING

The Horse Racing Abroad Pavilion Grandstand provides 1,200 reserved seats and is situated 1 - 1¼ furlongs before the winning post, with an excellent view of the course.

View of Finishing Post

From your seat you will be able to see all the action round the long turn at Longchamp together with the positioning of the horses as they make their final run on the three furlong straight.

ACCESS

Security staff control the entrances to the Pavilion area. Therefore, we request that your badge is visible at all times to avoid delays.

BETTING

You will find 12 fully computerised Tote (Pari Mutuel) booths in the main hall of the Pavilion Grandstand. Bets may be made with a minimum stake of 2 Euros or any multiple thereof and they may be placed, and winnings collected, at the same window.

Grandstand Interior

Although most of the French Tote (Pari Mutuel) employees in our Pavilion speak English, are own staff are happy to assist with any language or betting difficulties.

BUREAU DE CHANGE

We are pleased to be able to offer our clients a Bureau de Change service inside the Pavilion. The rate of exchange is set by the authorities at Longchamp.

CLOAKROOM

For your convenience, a "vestiaire" is located in the hall of the Grandstand.

ADDITIONAL FACILITIES

We also have a limited number of reserved seats in the Municipal Grandstand, situated past the winning post, at a cost of £85 each. If you require a seat in the Municipal Grandstand and access to the HRA Pavilion Grandstand, in order to use the facilities, a Dual Ticket is available at a cost of £110 per ticket.
